You raise me up so I can stand on mountains. You raise Me up to walk in stormy seas. I am strong when I am on your shoulders. You raise up to more than I can be.Â
Yahweh thank you for raising me out of sleep this morning. Thank you for your love and faithfulness, it is new every morning. Thank you for who you are and for being king about all because you are overflowing with mercy and kindness. Thank you for your love: we are nothing without it. I can’t write. Can’t open my mouth, can’t even wake up, much less accomplish anything with my time. You are so good. Your promises are sure: great is thy faithfulness.
1 Peter 3:12 – The Lord’s eyes are on those who do what he approves. His ears hear their prayers, the Lord confronts those who do evil.Â
Yahweh sees us and what we choose to do. This isn’t as much a physical sight though there is that. But he sees our heart. He sees our motives, so even if our actions are not being done the way it was intended, Yahweh convicts based on the heart. Our actions may appear a certain way, but only Yahweh can tell if they are right or wrong. Let Yahweh decide.Â
Deuteronomy 7:14 – You will be blessed more than any other people. Your men and women would be able to have children, and your animals will be able to have offspring.Â
When we choose to follow Yahweh faithfully, he will keep his promise and bless. He will drive out the enemies from the land and anyone seeing him would brakes because you are there (or you rep is there). Don’t be afraid because Yahweh is my God. He is awe inspiring and great.Â
Psalm 107:41 – But now he lifts needy people high above suffering and makes their families like flocks.Â
Yahweh knows that he’s supreme, but even in that he also lifts us up. Not to a position above him or even equal to him (because) but one where he lifts us out of our troubles. He blesses us and strengthens us. The Hebrew word translates to “to be (inaccessible) high.” Not high as in Yahweh high, but there is his protection around us that others cannot harm us. They will see us as an example of who Yahweh is, but won’t be able to do anything about it.Â
Psalm 69:29 – But I am poor and sorrowful. Let thy salvation oh God, set me up on high.
Note to Self: Yahweh it’s the one who chooses to lift us up, not ourselves. He requires us to choose humility and when we do (out of a genuine heart), he will bless you and lift you up. He brings us out of our sorrow and sadness, poverty and pain. But these are physical. He lifts us also spiritually and mentally: we can suddenly smile at the storm because our minds are where they are supposed to be.Â
James 4:10 – Humble yourself in the Lord’s presence. Then he will give you a high position.
Time and time again, we see where Yahweh lifts people, but they all have one attribute in common: they are humble before Yahweh and man. He will honour those who honour him. But those who seek to honour themselves are brought low. He raises up, not us. He is the one who saves us.Â
1 Peter 5:6 – Be humbled by God’s power so that when the right time comes he will honour you.Â
As a people, it’s easy to get caught up and to think highly of ourselves (not talking about good self esteem ehhhh), but this causes Yahweh’s face not to shine on us. He knows what is best for us and by choosing to submit or will to him, by choosing to be a servant as he was, we are choosing to be kept low. It is a position of trust, because the person who is above us can harm us, but Yahweh is good. He restores us to himself and honours our choice and us for our humility.
Yahweh, thank you for your promises. I don’t honour you because of them but they are indeed a blessing. Thank you for your love. I love you.Â
