When the sermon you’re listening answers the exact question on your mind at that moment. That’s Yahweh. I was listening to a sermon about being filled with the Holy Spirit and as he was speaking, I thought, “I wonder if people are aware that being filled with the Holy Spirit doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll get chills down your back or burst out in tears?” Can that happen? Yes, but that can also happen when it’s not the Holy Spirit. You can be quiet and filled with the Holy Spirit. Why I thought that? Because too many think that if that didn’t happen, then the Holy Spirit isn’t moving in them. And then the pastor said essentially the same thing. The truth for me is that I’ve seen the Triune God misrepresented, even by me, that it can be a barrier to others. That the God we serve is some weird, totalitarian, figment of our imagination. And while he uses our imagination for his glory, he isn’t a figment of it. He is real and very present. He reigns over this universe. He is Lord and he wants us to know him. How many people can say that about those who rule them? Almost no one can say that about any earthly ruler. But I can say that about Yahweh.

TODAY’S THANKFUL TALLY

  1. Miracles that happen when you give it all to Yahweh.
  2. A drive into the rainforest.
  3. Sea grapes!
  4. My transmission giving trouble.
  5. I’m gonna still praise Yahweh

Random thought (but not so random): Listening to a sermon and they mentioned the serpent in the garden of Eden. I’m going to propose that the animals spoke in some way, shape or form, or that Adam and Eve generally understood them before sin. Why am I saying that? Eve wasn’t afraid at this creature talking to her. I know for me, (and most people), if something that never spoke before started speaking, I’m gone. My cat start to talk? I’m out. Praying. But out. Calling on the Holy Spirit, but I’m out. The animal speaking seems to be a natural occurrence at that time due to her lack of fear of him speaking.
