We need to match our strategy to the season. (You can be anointed and exhausted). The thing that crowns you in one season can kill you in the next. We can’t keep using the same technique all our lives. Our beliefs must be rooted in God. He does not change, but he changes his strategy based on the season, based on the crop (grape vines and banana trees are not treated the same way).Â
Why would we then think that the strategies from 20 years ago will work now? We will get weary. We have to adapt our strategy while maintaining Yahweh’s principles. Jesus never performed the same miracle the same way twice. He didn’t repeat his parables either. Yahweh took both Enoch and Elijah. One was not. One in chariots. His methods changed based on the situation. Why are we so afraid to change our strategies as Christians?
I was honestly looking for specific scripture that spoke about Yahweh’s methods changing, and then I realised that all scripture is about the different strategies Yahweh used.Â
Exodus 17:6 – I will stand there in front of you by the rock at Mount Horeb.. Then water will come out of it for the people to drink.
Numbers 20:8 – Get your walking stick. You and your brother Aaron gather the people together. Then speak to the rock while everyone is watching. It will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community.
He is our provider, that does not change. He will provide, whether it’s water, food, revelation. But he does not repeat his strategy. When speaking with us, and confirming and reminding us, he uses different techniques. He will speak in a dream, but the dream itself most likely will change. Joseph had two dreams about the same thing. Lesson: don’t drag what worked then into your now. Each season is different and so are our strategies for that season.
Help me not to get stuck when you are calling me to change. Even now, I pray that I don’t hold on to the strategies from my life now, when it’s time for a new season.
Dre keeps messaging ever so often. He asked a couple times about my “status” but I said I’m not interested. Before this season, Yahweh hasn’t given me many messages regarding romantic relationships before except with the message that what I had with him had to end. He resurfaced interestingly just after the break with Jeffers, but I do know beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is not meant for me. Looking back, I am thankful for that.Â
