Ah luv me island. I’m not saying that other places aren’t beautiful, I just happen to love my corner of the world. I just wish everyone who lived here felt the same way. They look at other places and want to do the same thing (why do we want skyscrapers here again?). But I truly believe that the changes that come should develop what is naturally here and not destroy it. We visited some beautiful spots today. Saw folks snorkelling in areas that most don’t know have the most spectacular reefs. Sometimes I’m torn – for more people to discover them/to visit them or to keep them hidden so that they are not destroyed.
Yahweh, I pray that the decisions made would be for the benefit and not a curse to the island. Impart wisdom to the leaders that they would choose you and allow you to lead. I pray that as a people we would prosper and be in good health. Thank you for your love and your grace. For this corner that you have blessed me with. Thank you.
Stand up
Stand for what you believe in. We have this tendency to shift our moral code based on what is popular and not on what is right. Now people are trying to make me operate contrary to what is right because people out there “talking.” They’re actually telling lies, but I must shift to accommodate their lies? When you ask someone a yes or no question and they say no, only to find out it is yes. Why should I trust that person? Why should I then shift from what is right to accommodate liars and cheats? I cannot do that. I will not bow. But I will walk away.
Matthew 10:14, 15 – If anyone doesn’t welcome you or listen to what you say, leave that house or city, and shake the dust off your feet. I can guarantee this truth: judgement day will be better for Sodom and Gomorrah than for the city.
Why this scripture came to mind? Because it’s the entire village that is two-faced. They are deceitful and no amount of talking or guiding brings about a change. Yahweh, let your judgement be on them. They do all these things and yet every Monday morning is a fight that they want us to resolve. No matter what you say or do, their hearts always seem to turn to deceit. I will not waste my words anymore. Their judgement is left to you.
