Morning Star
Spread the love

July 4, 2022

Thank you for a new day. I feel tired and want to crawl back into bed. Not sleeping for so long last night definitely affecting me this morning. But  here is the truth – today is the day that you have made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Thank you for all that you have made – even me. Thank you for being God. For being mighty and powerful, yet caring for the smallest component on this earth. Thank you for your never-ending provision. Thank you for your son who died to save us because there was no way that we could save ourselves. Thank you for your mercy. Thank you for being love.

There is so much that I can say about you being love. A love that words fail to truly express. You are amazing, beautiful, magnificent, remarkable, beyond all words. And in all that, you love us.

1 John 3:1 – Consider this: The Father has given us his love. He loves us so much that we are actually called God’s dear children. And that’s what we are. For this reason the world doesn’t recognize us, and it didn’t recognize him either.

We are your sons and daughters. You love us with an everlasting love.

Ephesians 3:16-19 – I’m asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit. Then Christ will live in you through faith. I also pray that love may be the ground into which you sink your roots and on which you have your foundation. This way, with all of God’s people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is. 19 You will know Christ’s love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God.

CONFESSION: It feels almost pointless to try and know all of your love. Because I might end up with another Psalm (which may not be a bad idea). But there is so much of who you are that can only be understood from a human standpoint and that pales in comparison to who you are. You are love and the foundation on which all else is built. Thank you for the assurance that once we build on you, we are secure. And we may be hesitant to build on you because it happens to be a “low” position. As people we often seek positions that elevate, or are visible, but a house cannot stand without a foundation. A house cannot be a safe place without a foundation. And you have set yourself as that foundation. It’s as wide as we need it to be. Thank you for loving us to you and back. Thank you for being close. Thank you for being God.
