I truly don’t know what to think. P.C. was arrested early this morning. No words. Don’t know what to say in this instant.
But the thought just occurred to me: at the time the police came, I would have been awake and talking with Yahweh. I did not even hear a thing. It’s good to fix your focus on Yahweh, ehhh: had no clue of the trouble around.
You know one of the saddest parts of my work at times? When I encounter Christians. They are often the most belligerent, insultive, insist on doing the wrong thing, people. And worse, they want to be supported in their wrong. Met one such today. They saw us dealing with an issue and literally turned around to complain to us. We indicated that our policy requires that the complaint must be made at the office. We also indicated that we had already scheduled appointments. The wife said okay. Should be noted that the issue was not life and death. The husband started to cuss and eventually we left and continued on our visits. We had miles to go. The next stop was thirty minutes away with the final stop an hour away.
This Christian gentleman then went into the office and continued cussing and calling my name saying what I do from what I didn’t do. It’s truly depressing at times, but I have a covenant, a promise that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. So he can sharpen his tongue, Yahweh will answer.
Now I know that Yahweh takes covenants/promises seriously. But sometimes we don’t understand the magnitude of how serious Yahweh takes his promises. But this text…wow.
Jeremiah 33: 20, 21 – This is what the Lord says: suppose you could break my covenant with day and night so that they wouldn’t come at their proper time. Then my covenant with my servant David could be broken and he would not have a descendant to rule on his throne. The covenant with my servants the Levitical priests could also be broken.
This is the question: has anyone ever prevented the sun and moon from rising? Yes? Of course not. Even with an eclipse it’s still there. If and only if you can stop the sun from rising would Yahweh break a covenant. And that ain’t happening. But this also shows how much Yahweh understands us. He used an example of something we see and trust to happen to the point that we take it for granted to illustrate how much we can trust him. We expect the sun to rise, we don’t go peeping at the horizon, “Is the sun going to come up today? Omg! It did!” We knew that it would. The same way we can rest assured that Yahweh will do what he said he will do. You can bet the sun on that (I don’t bet ehhh).
TODAY’S THANKFUL TALLY
- Moving in Yahweh’s timing.
- His unbreakable covenants.
- Customer who decided to cuss and carry on.
