The rain just started. Not sure how I feel about that. I’m supposed to track part of a hike today, we’ll see what happens. Good morning!Â
Confession: I want to sleep still, but I am up. I think I’ll get some sleep sometime today or so. Thank you for this new day, this new week, I can’t believe it’s already the 10th day of the month. When did this happen?!! Thank you for all that you’ve done for me, for all that you are and for loving us unconditionally. FYI, my head feels wonky. I ate later than usual last night, not sure if that is why. Still want to sleep. I think I said this already. (Facepalm).
I’m reading a devotional and it said something, “Rather than return to life as though Covid-19 have never hit, we yield to the work God wants to do in and through us.” It does feel like our churches want to completely return to the way everything was done before the pandemic and it feels like there’s some voices crying out in the wind against it, but not being heard.Â
Yahweh, help us to do what you have called us to do as your people. To not get caught up in the rituals of yesterday, but to seek your face and to follow where you lead. If you say for the rituals to remain, I bow to your wisdom. But I’ll confess that I’m hoping that they won’t. We have replaced worship with rituals and still call it worship. Yahweh, cleanse our hearts. Wash us in your spirit. There is so much that we can do for you, once we stop limiting ourselves and when we limit ourselves we limit you. We prevent you from working and moving the way that you desire. Yahweh in spite of our shortcomings, move in this place. Awaken our hearts to what you desire of us. To be one body in you and to recognise the importance of working as one. Of praying together. Of choosing you wholeheartedly. Because once we choose you wholeheartedly, all the other aspects will come together.
1 Corinthians 10:16-17 – When we bless the cup of blessing aren’t we sharing in the blood of Christ? When we break the bread aren’t we sharing in the body of Christ? Because there is one loaf, we are one body, although we are many individuals. All of us share one loaf.
Sharing together in whatever you offer, whatever you desire. Yahweh, help us to truly be one under you. While I don’t hold on to the past, I long for that unity that was experienced at Pentecost. Well leading up to and after Pentecost, when everyone chose to let you lead. Where they worshiped as one. Yahweh, help us to do your will. Remember Tricia. Keep her in your will. I pray that she doesn’t get lost and that she seeks you in all things and honours you. Let her heart be yours, open and willing to do what you desire of her. Open to hearing your voice. Thank you for her. I pray that her needs and that of her family would be met. Help us to recognise what each person has to offer and embrace it.
1 Corinthians 12:19 – How could it be a body if it only had one part?
So true. How? I don’t know. Help us to honour you and what you desire for this body. This is my prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.Â
Hike Life
That was fun! Walked part of a hike that we’re planning. Currently vehicles will have difficulty driving the area though it is possible with the right vehicle and skills. But it was fun. That section took about forty minutes though. I wonder at the differences in people though. The last hike I did, there were some steep areas and everyone automatically helped the next navigate them. Guys especially would help the women. There was one point where it was an incline up, muddy and steep. The guy in front of me went up and did not even look back to see if I made it up. I did. But it was just surprising.Â
