Thank you for your strength, your courage. Thank you for never giving up on me. Your love is so amazing that I am in awe. You are beyond amazing and all else fails in comparison to you. When I think of what you’ve done, how you have worked in my life, I have to say thank you. I love you Yahweh.Â
World Chocolate Day
Hmmmmm. I am not a mother. I have never appreciated when people would sing out, “Happy Mother’s Day!!” to me. Because I am not a mother. Of course the times when I said please don’t, people would respond, “But you’re mother in Zion,” or “You’re a mother to the youths.” No, I’m not.Â
There are mothers by whatever method they became a mother and they are those who aren’t. What’s wrong with celebrating those who are mothers? Just those? In my opinion, there’s Women’s Day for all women. Let the mothers have their day. They went through childbirth/adoption, raising children, feeding them etc. Let’s celebrate that. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Celebrate mothers on Mother’s Day. Celebrate me on my birthday, Women’s Day, World Urbanism Day, Aunt’s and Uncle’s Day, Landscape Architecture month and World Chocolate Day. Because everybody needs chocolate.
And then
Sometimes I think I’m in a dog version of the movie, “That Darn Cat.” Smh.Â
If there’s a whole book of Lamentations, I think I’m allowed to lament.Â
Lament: a passionate expression of grief or sorrow. Express regret or disappointment about something.Â
We don’t listen. Someone would be talking to us, standing or sitting in front of us talking and we don’t listen. We are focused on the phone, the computer (that cares nothing about us). We’re thinking of everything else except what the person is saying. And then we try to justify the throw away answer that we give when called upon.Â
But the truth is, Yahweh listens to us. In all his busyness he listens and he is taking care of the world. Since we are made in his image, fashioned to do what he desires us to do, shouldn’t we be listening to the loved one who is trying desperately to get our attention? Just saying. He does it for us, we can do it for others. End lament.Â
