So this afternoon. I had to laugh. Mom gave me some funds to put gas in the car, so I was driving my vehicle today. Still don’t intend to drive it all over since until it’s serviced, it can cause damage to the engine. That being said, I was at my exercise spot close to home when Mom called asking if I can go to the hardware in town. I said, no problem, estimating no more than thirty-five minutes for that errand.

I had to laugh as that thirty-five minutes turned into almost two hours. Got to the hardware, looking for the rope Mom had asked for and saw kitty litter. There is an inexpensive clay litter that we usually get, but we haven’t been able get it for months. I immediately got a cart and called Mom, “Do you have any extra cash you can send?”  and I told her why. She said, see if you can get four plus the rope. Then I checked the front if there were any rewards  and there was enough for one more. So I got five. At the cashier, and the card is saying insufficient funds. Sigh. Beyond embarrassing. Tried again, same thing. Mom had already transferred the money. I called the bank and was put on hold and so I decided to go to the ATM instead. On my way to the ATM, I saw a friend walking home. It’s up a steep hill and it’s about a twenty minute walk, but it was also wet and about to rain again. So I gave him a ride home and then headed to the bank. All the while, I am on the phone waiting for an agent. I got to the bank, used the same card (!) and was able to withdraw the money. Hallelujah! Now I had ten minutes to get back to the store before it closed. Made it with six minutes to spare. Happy dance!! Thank you. And that’s how a thirty-five minute errand turned into two hours.

But now I am home, about to bathe, and am just thankful for life. Thankful for the provision, for the grace of Yahweh and for his using me. I know we often look at the big and mighty ways Yahweh can use us, but I also delight in the small ways.

Ohhhh. When I got back to the hardware, a friend who I haven’t seen in more than a year sees me. Her greetings? “You get slim!” Lol. I had to laugh. I haven’t, but I am definitely smaller than before at one hundred and ten pounds down. Fifty (maybe sixty) more to go. Yahweh, be with me. You know I need your help, your continued help. And then your help to maintain. Thank you! I love you!

TODAY’S THANKFUL TALLY

  1. Reduction in cost for the hike I’m planning. Previously the head honcho said there was an administrative cost of $25. With breakfast costing $30, I couldn’t afford (at this moment)to attend the hike I’m responsible for planning. But they reconsidered and removed the admin fee. Happy dance!
  2. Seeds being planted and nurtured. Allowed the time to grow.
  3. Genesis 38 – 50
  4. The two hour errand
  5. Day Fifteen. Yahweh strengthen me in you.

Thank you for the day. For seeing me through.
