As I was removing my makeup (lol, yes, very late), a thought came to me: what if these financial woes aren’t the devil but Yahweh? What if he is removing everything that I’m prone to rely on so that I will rely on him? Because honestly the last few months have just gotten weirder and weirder financially. Even last night, the insurance company called stating that my payments (which are automatically deducted from my salary) were late and that they recommend that I make two payments to ensure that I’m up to date and that my policy doesn’t lapse. Honestly I cried. Because what next? And I had to make a choice. Even through my tears, I will trust him. That I will trust Yahweh. I don’t know what is going on, but I will hold onto him and his promises. That he will restore. He will redeem. He will save. He will protect. He will provide. That he loves me with an everlasting love.
1 Peter 5:10 – God, who shows you his kindness and who has called you through Christ Jesus to his eternal glory, will restore you, strengthen you, make you strong, and support you as you suffer for a little while.
Hebrews 13:5 – Don’t love money. Be happy with what you have because God has said, “I will never abandon you or leave you.”
Psalm 32:7 – You are my hiding place. You protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyous songs of salvation.
Psalm 23:4 – Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage.
Isaiah 26:3 – With perfect peace you will protect those whose minds cannot be changed, because they trust you.
