Good morning Yahweh. How are you this morning?

Thank you for being good. Thank you for a new day, I’m excited to see what you will share with me today! Yahweh, today is work. I pray for your protection, your guidance and your grace as I go through today. Thank you for your love. Today, only for today, I pray for your strength and provision: to do what you desire me to do today. Let my words be yours and I pray that your connection won’t waiver so that I would know what to do. Thank you for your spirit that connects us, that teaches us.

I pray for this tiny island. There’s so much potential wrapped up in this place. I pray that the potential moves into purpose and that your will be done. I’m excited to see what the proposal is for the main town and I hope that it’s good. Thank you for reining in my thoughts, thank you for your promises over my life and the care that you are taking to see the expected results. I’m excited to see the end result, but I’m also excited (mostly) about today. Today is a day that I get to trust you and to rest in you. I understand that while it is physical too, but a spiritual rest in you: secure that you are working on my behalf, for all those who choose to trust you. I don’t know how you do it (and I don’t think we will ever know how. Though one day I do hope to see you in action), but I am glad that you are able to. Thank you for showing us that your word is true and that you never turn your back on your word the way people are prone to. Thank you for being what/who we need and who we want. Thank you for fulfilling our desires and thank you for being you. Ohhhh. And thank you for physical rest last night!! Seven hours! No lie, I feel so cosy this morning, like I’m in a cocoon. I almost just want to stay wrapped up here, but this is a day in front of me and your leading and guiding. So I will uncocoon myself and see what you have planned for me today. Though I plan, I think you strategize, because to juggle this world without dropping anything takes more than planning. Thank you for working in my life.

Still Say Yes
Still Say Yes

Jeremiah 29:11 – I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.

I think this might be the most famous text after John 3:16. Just want to say thank you for your thoughts, your plans for us. You put a smile on my face and a song in my heart.

You know (of course you do), there was a saying that says, ” A relationship without trust is like a car without fuel: you can stay in it as long as you want but it won’t take you anywhere.” And it’s funny, that we often only see these things from an earthly relationship standpoint, but the truth is trust/faith is the biggest part of our relationship with you. Without trust we cannot please you. Without trust we have no hope – only anxiety filled days. You also desire to trust us to fulfil your desires on this earth. To know that we will do what we say we will do. Without that two way trust, there is just religion, not relationship. And if we are honest, religion without relationship has been responsible for some of the worst atrocities this world has ever seen. Help us Yahweh, to have a true relationship with you.

Psalm 52:8 – But I am like a large olive tree in God’s house. I trust the mercy of God forever and ever.

The illustrious olive tree used for so many things but especially for anointing. An olive tree has a long life and when in an area that is rich and bountiful, even more so. That’s what happens when we trust Yahweh, we become rooted in him. We are anointed and we have the ability to anoint others, to shade others. We can know that we will be taken care of: can a tree take care of itself? Huh. The tree can’t even move without outside forces whether it’s the wind or the farmer. It just once again hit home that in so many of the representations of who we are as people that without putting our trust in someone outside of ourselves we can do absolutely nothing. But we can choose to dig our roots deep into the soil that is nourished by God and trust him to prune us, to use the food that will come from his nourishments. We have to trust you!

We can’t even pick our food for ourselves. We can watch it fall where it usually gets bounced and bruised. Help us to trust you Yahweh in all things so that we would be fruitful and multiply.

Hebrews 2:13 – In addition, Jesus says, “I will trust him” and Jesus says, “I am here with the sons and daughters God has given me.”

Jesus had the utmost confidence in his Father (The Lord persuades the yielded believer to  be confident in his preferred will – Bible expansion on the word). The decision to trust Yahweh interestingly enough comes from Yahweh. We can truly do nothing without you – why do we insist on trying though? But I digress. Your son who had you as a perfect example, knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that you would do what you said because you’ve always done what you said you would do. We can trust you and trust the trust 🙂 that Jesus placed in you.

Isaiah 50:10 – Who among you fears the Lord and obeys his servant? Let those who walk in darkness and have no light trust the name of the Lord and depend upon their God.

It is tempting when in a dark season – when you can’t see, to find some type of light (now Yahweh is the light, we know that, but work with me here). But there are a couple problems with trying to figure out how to light your own way. One: you waste time. We would be fumbling around in the darkness trying to figure out what we can use to start a fire. Two: whatever we find may not show enough to actually get you out of the dark.

But when you trust in the light of Yahweh, you just have to put one foot in front of the other because (as strange as it sounds) whether it’s dark or it’s light, trusting God means that your actions are the same either way. In a season where everything is right, we have to close our eyes anyway and trust him to lead us because we may be tempted to follow what our eyes are saying. And in a dark season, we should close our eyes because even with them open we can’t see anyway. So our eyes closed and trusting Yahweh is what we need to do at all times.

Jeremiah 17:5 – This is what the Lord says, cursed is the person who trusts humans, who makes flesh and blood his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord.

No one wants to be cursed, so don’t trust man or even yourself (cause we human too). We are not steadfast unless we trust Yahweh. So we end up disappointing our own selves.  Yahweh forgive me for the times I tried to trust in my own strength – to trust in my own eyes. Clearly (pun intended), those efforts failed. But I am even more thankful that you didn’t leave me in my failure. You came and helped me and healed me so that I don’t need to see. Thank you Yahweh, for the ways that you have shown your love to me.

1 Thessalonians 2: 4 – Rather we are always spreading the good news. God trusts us to do this because we have passed his test. We don’t try to please people but God who tests our motives.

God has to trust us too. He has to trust us to trust him and he has to trust us that when he gives us a word to speak, that’s the word we will speak. And honestly his desire to trust us is way more risky because we (people), always changing our minds. But he doesn’t change, so when we trust him, there is no risk involved. When he trusts us he is risking everything. But when we then choose to trust him, all risk is actually removed because ultimately he is now trusting in himself because we are trusting him. And he has proven that his word is sure.

Yahweh, when you say you are the author and finisher of our faith you weren’t kidding.

Thank you for trusting us to trust you. Thank you for your magnificence that is beyond understanding. But you show us anyway and you desire that we trust enough to begin to understand you. Thank you for you. I trust you.

It’s a little funny to notice that trust starts and ends with the same letter. The same way that trust starts and ends with you. Yahweh, thank you for revealing more of who you are every day. I pray that I never lose that desire to know you. And since I can trust you, I trust that you will keep me.

We Can Trust Him
We Can Trust Him
