Talking to Jesus

Two something wake up this morning. But considering that I was in bed by 7, it’s to be expected I guess. But I’m “daydreaming” too much about the future so I got up. Gonna wash since there is water and read the Bible AND enjoy some music.

Exodus 20:19 – The Israelites said, “You speak to us and we’ll listen. But don’t let God speak to us or we’ll die!”

You were gonna speak with them. Not show your face, but talk with them. That’s such an awesome blessing. (And it’s hilarious and inspiring that as I’m writing this a song about “Talking to Jesus” came on). Though I guess I understand how people would feel talking to you without that personal connection because they would see the “Almighty”, but not the “personal” side in this case. Thank you for also being our friend. For wanting to speak with us, though we can’t physically see you (right now) without dying.

FATHER. FRIEND. CONFIDANTE. SAVIOUR. HEALER. PROVIDER. HELP. GUIDE

Help us not to keep our distance from you, but to draw close to you and to trust you.

We are not the same, though I am made in your image. But I can choose to partner with you (you’ve already chosen to partner with me) and we move like interlocking chains.

Jeremiah 32:17 – Almighty Yahweh, you made heaven and earth by your great and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you. 

Yahweh, you’ve worked miracles in our lives everyday, some we even take for granted. You see us. When we laugh, when we cry. You see us. Thank you for seeing Steph. You created her for greatness. To be your reflection here on earth. Strengthen her in you. Heal her heart. I know what it is to wait. You know that it can hurt. But you also share the pain. Hold her in your hand of mercy. Thank you for healing. Thank you for restoration: mind, body, spirit. Thank you for your promises.

Jeremiah 32:17 – Almighty Yahweh, you made heaven and earth by your great strength and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you. 

You made heaven and earth by just speaking. You formed us with your hands. You breathed into us and still breathe into us every day. Filling us with your presence, your spirit, your strength. Yahweh, she is your creation. Your daughter and she doesn’t have to do this life alone. You are her strength, her friend. More (or I should say, just as important), you can open her eyes to the support that she has around her. Whether it’s family or persons that she may overlook as friends. But in all things let her trust be in you as a guide. Thank you for who you are. Your graciousness towards her.
