Ephesians 6:12 – This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world.
Yahweh I pray for your strength in this battle. That you would fight on our behalf. That any strongholds in our lives, in our hearts would be broken down. Help us to release any anger, unforgiveness in our hearts. Yahweh, I pray especially for Steph. Cover her in your spirit. I pray that she grows in her faith in you. You move mountains with mustard seeds but you require that the seed be planted in you. Cover her Yahweh so that she would grow. All evil plans that are against her, we come against it in your name. Take your mantle and place it around her. Repair the walls and place a hedge of protection around her, her husband, her family. Yahweh, you are her hiding place. I pray that she will seek you and hide in you. Cover her Yahweh.Â
Psalm 27:5 – He hides me in his shelter when there is trouble. He keeps me hidden in his tent. He sets me high on a rock.
Yahweh, I pray that she will seek your face and that she will be hidden in you. In times of trouble, you are her shield. In times of distress, you are her strength. In all times and in all seasons. You are the ruler over her life. Let your will be done. Forgive her of anything that is separating her from you. I pray that she will trust you and allow herself to be held by you.
Cleanse me father of any unforgiveness. Any doubt. Help me to believe in what you say and to trust you beyond what I can see. I pray that Steph will trust you beyond what she can see. Bind her to you. Nothing between.
Self doubt kills many dreams. Trust Yahweh to order my steps.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths smooth.
Is it possible to help someone too much? I always remember the story of the guy who helped the butterfly out of its cocoon and its wings were unable to function because of that. I have a tendency to want to help people, but I am learning that at times I have to step back. At times, the best help to give someone is to pray for them. I can’t have faith for someone else. I can believe in their promise for them even if they doubt. I can even encourage them to believe, but my belief cannot take the place of theirs. They have to believe. Their faith has to grow on its own. They have to take the steps to build their faith or it will die.
