Sometimes when I read over things that I wrote a year ago, I don’t recognise myself. And in a way, it makes me more open because during that time as far as everyone was concerned, “She’s greatttt!!” (alá Tony the Tiger). But I wasn’t. I was spearheading programmes – great, inspiring programmes to boot, but I was like a zombie inside. Well, not a zombie. I was in pieces. And then I became a zombie. Mindlessly going through the motions.
But the road to waking up was actually a long one, though it’s only in hindsight I see that. Steps from three years ago in the midst of being the walking dead that helped get me to where I am today. And I’m thankful. Very thankful.
TODAY’S THANKFUL TALLY
- Emergency call to drop nephew to work. Why? Because I was available and he wasn’t getting a car.
- Your daughters. Thank you for community and support.
- You are the most high God. Thank you for your miracles. Not just in my life, but around me.
- Steph hearing from you! (You were always speaking, but she heard you).
Thank you for the million and one reasons to praise you with the number one being that you alone are God. I love you to you and back.
