Psalm 142:2 – I pour out my complaints in his presence and tell him my troubles.

I think complaining has a bad rep. I blame the Israelites for that. All the murmuring and complaining. I think what makes one acceptable to Yahweh and the other not is the spirit in which it is done, “But God” vs “But God.” Yahweh does want us to come to him when we are happy and when we are troubled. But our attitude when we come to him with a complaint is important and that’s what he listens to. Are we entitled or humbled? Are we whining or are we stating the situation. The result is based on how we go to him.

Psalm 144:1 – Thank the Lord, my rock, who trained my hands to fight and my fingers to do battle.

This is such a weirdly interesting test. The first time I heard it was in a sermon about how Yahweh prepares us for different types of spiritual combat. Well warfare. Combat sounds so physical and though physical symbols are used here, it is definitely not a physical fight.

Psalm 145:16 – You open your hand, and you satisfy the desire of every living thing.

This is such an awesome thought. Once Yahweh opens his hands the while world is fed. Well, maybe not fed, but satisfied. Satisfaction is a good thing.
