I’m feeling roti-ish. Well actually buss-up-shut-ish, with curry goat. Rofl. Yes, I classify myself as a flexitarian these days. But this is not in my budget and I have not yet learned how to make buss-up-shut. I can make dhal-puri though.

Misunderstanding

I think I’m insulted and hurt. A card was purchased for a coworker who had a death in the family. I use my own funds on all. Everybody signed the card and I gave a contribution based on what I had. Turns out no one else gave a contribution and the man refused the contribution because he felt that the contribution wasn’t enough. Now I can understand his point of view given the amount of officers in the department, but you refused my contribution to? Which was literally all I had? Make it worse, I find out by the way that he refused the card and the money. By the way. Yes I called him on it.

Sigh. Seems that he feels insulted by the fact that it was only a contribution from one person with a staff of over twenty. I can understand that. Smh. Still think he could have said something to me, but it’s also water under the bridge. No hard feelings (I hope). At least none on my side.

Driving

You know. One thing my mother, my father and my driving instructor all said, when driving, look down the road not in front your bonnet. When you do that, you see everything. I’m convinced some people need to go back and learn how to drive.

On my way home, I took a back road because of the traffic on the highway. There is an area on the road that is a bit narrow. Two cars can pass, yes but it would be close. If it’s a truck? Just the truck alone. Well a truck was coming.  The car in front of me mash his brakes one time, so did I with enough distance a lot of truck to move and pass. I immediately put on my hazard lights to signal to anyone who came behind me to hold. But guess what? They didn’t want to wait. And they clearly did not look ahead. Three cars! Three! Decided to fly past. And the truck and one of the cars end up sticking.

Not so funny thing: Another car, seeing what was happening still was driving up to pass me and join the melee. I watched them one side eye, they reversed one time. The truck and the SUV both trying to extricate themselves. I eventually turned around and went another way home. Sad thing is? This is not the first time something like this has happened there, but people always want to rush! At least no one was physically hurt, but it caused a serious traffic jam. They say common sense mek before book sense, but sometimes I feel like they all have no sense. Shame face.
