Good Morning Yahweh. Confession: this seems like the longest month of the year! Time almost seems to be at a standstill, even though I know that it is still moving at the same pace as it usually does.
But despite how it feels, you are still the God of Time. You are still moving things forward. Why did you choose to create time? Since you live outside of time? And for the other worlds, do they have their own time schedule or is there no time on their world? Essentially was earth the first place where you created time? And while I’m not sure if I would still even ask these questions in heaven, would…that was a total check in my spirit. Of course you would answer. Hopefully you would remind me.
Yahweh, thank you for a new day and a new work week. Thank you for a new life in you.
Singing
New every morning is thy love.
Our wakening and uprising prove;
Through sleep and darkness safely brought,
Restored to life and power and thought.
This verse though struck a chord. (I think I like this phrase more than “this hit me”).
“If in our daily course our mind, be set to hallow all we find. New treasure still, of countless price. God will provide for sacrifice.”
Once we are determined to seek Yahweh and to see him, we will see him. He will provide new things to learn about himself, about this world. About what he desires of us. He will provide that. Thank you for always being willing to speak with us once we are truly desirous of hearing. And even when we are playing stubborn, you still speak, the only difference is, we have problems hearing.
Yahweh, open my eyes to always hear from you. A heart that is tuned into yours. Thank you for speaking to me in the past, Thank you for the whispers and the shouts (to get my attention when distracted). Thank you for loving me unconditionally.
New every morning. Every day that I wake up there are new mercies. Help me to never take it for granted. Yahweh, I pray for Dad. For your continued guidance in his life. That he will seek you everyday. That he will discover some new thing about you everyday and remember what he discovers. That he will be drawn ever closer to you. Thank you for your grace in his life. Thank you for his health and strength. There are so many who even if they made it to 73, aren’t able to move around etc, but he is. Thank you for using him for your glory. I pray that you will keep him in your will, that he will choose to remain in your will. Let his words be yours, let his actions be tempered by you. Let your will be done.
Truthfully, when I say those words now, “Let thy will be done,” I still remember at times the way I meant it before. I’m sorry and I know that you don’t condemn me for it. And I am thankful for that. But I am also thankful that even though we are moving in harmony – even though you desire my thoughts and wants to be fulfilled, know that you want to ultimately do what is best for me is an awesome thought. But you won’t force me or just do it anyhow. Which truthfully, is how I used to see it. Thank you for the course correction. Thank you for stepping into my life.
I pray for the moms. Yahweh, strengthen them in you. To grow in grace. To honour you each day. To be drawn closer to you everyday. I pray that their understanding of who you are and your desires for them will be deepened everyday and that they will know you more and more every day. Keep them in your will. Touch their lives. In your name I pray. Amen.
Ezekiel 18:31-32 – Stop all the rebellious things that you are doing. Get yourselves new hearts and new spirits. Why do you want to die, nation of Israel? I don’t want anyone to die,” declares the Almighty Lord. “Change the way you think and act!”
And then he says:
Ezekiel 36:26 – I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. I will remove your stubborn hearts and give you obedient hearts.
I am fascinated by the word “new” today.
New life.
New beginnings.
New heart.
New Spirit.
New : Chadash : fresh, new thing.
It is a bit rare that the Hebrew word actually translates to exactly the same thing in English. Usually there are so many other words the Hebrew (or Greek) can also be translated to. But new is exactly that: new.
New (dictionary):
- Having recently come into existence.
- Made or become fresh.
- Different from one of the same category that has existed previously.
- Of dissimilar origin and usually of superior quality.
The new heart is definitely of superior quality. It’s from Yahweh. Create in me a new heart, Yahweh and renew your spirit in me. Thank you for the new. For not leaving us with our old, hard hearts, but giving us new hearts that are soft, and open to you. Thank you for who you are and what you have done. I love you.
We cannot expect something new without trying something new. Sometimes that means walking away from old choices. Sometimes it means putting up new boundaries. Yahweh, today I am putting up new boundaries. When someone seeks to sow discord consistently it means that I need to set new boundaries about what access they can have. I love them dearly, but there are new boundaries when it comes to that family. I will not let their spirit invade this space: this spirit you have given me. Help me to remain in you. Renew your Spirit in me everyday. Yahweh, I pray that they will choose you. That they will make that choice to honour you in Spirit and in truth. Amen.
Galatians 6:7-8 – Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you’ll harvest. If you plant in the soil of your corrupt nature, you will harvest destruction. But if you plant in the soil of your spiritual nature, you will harvest everlasting life.
Huh. I think I understand the author of the book I was reading was trying to say. If someone’s life is one of constant discord when you sow into that person’s life, you will reap discord. Because now that spirit is coming into your sphere. But when someone who is calm in a storm and you sow into them, then you will reap that calm also.
