Matthew 1: 1 – This is the list of ancestors of Jesus Christ, descendant of David and Abraham.

The things you know but never really internalised. There is no wonder that Herod was afraid of the birth of Jesus. Jesus is a direct descendant to the line of kings. I mean, I know he’s THE KING, but there was a reason that usurpers often wiped out the children of the deposed. So that no one could challenge their rule. Jesus as a direct descendant wouldn’t have just been a deliverer from their bondage, but truly could have set himself up as the rightful earthly king. Thank Yahweh, he didnt.

Matthew 2:23 – and made his home in a city called Nazareth. So what the prophets had said came true: “He will be called a Nazarene.”

This account is interesting. It makes it appear that Joseph was not originally from Nazareth. But Mark’s account says he was.

Matthew 5:18 – I can guarantee this truth: Until the earth and the heavens disappear, neither a period nor a comma will disappear from the Scriptures before everything has come true.

It’s either we believe or we don’t (this is definitely an all or nothing). I’ve heard so many times, we need to memorise scripture because just now they would be take away our Bibles. And of course, “they” would have taken out parts and add parts elsewhere. But we have a choice to either believe the Bible or don’t. If we believe that nothing can be taken from it until it has all come true, then nothing can be taken from it until Christ returns.
