Mark 6:14 – King Herod heard about Jesus, because Jesus’ name had become well-known. Some people were saying, “John the Baptizer has come back to life. That’s why he has the power to perform these miracles.”
Question: What miracles did John perform? He preached. He baptised. He was filled with the Holy Spirit. But I have never heard of him performing miracles. So why would they think it was him come back to life?
Mark 6:52 – (They didn’t understand what had happened with the loaves of bread. Instead, their minds were closed.)
The question is asked, why did they not understand? They were performing miracles: healing, the whole nine yards. The sad truth? We are the same. We see Yahweh perform time and time again and yet we don’t believe or we grow afraid. I pray for the day when I will step forward without fear.
Mark 6:56 – Whenever he would go into villages, cities, or farms, people would put their sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch the edge of his clothes. Everyone who touched his clothes was made well.
The woman with the issue of blood, with one touch started a revolution.
Mark 9:32 – The disciples didn’t understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him.
There are no stupid questions with Yahweh. Ask.
Mark 11:13 – In the distance he saw a fig tree with leaves. He went to see if he could find any figs on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves because it wasn’t the season for figs.
Why did Jesus curse the tree if it was not yet the season for figs? Possibility 1: a tree (person) should be producing at all times. Possibility 2: Jesus was super hungry.
