time with Yahweh during the day

It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve done a facial. Sigh. My face feels like silk right now, I don’t even want to sweat. But I’m afraid I will as I just put the bread to bake and the kitchen is hot.
Thank you Yahweh for a quiet morning. I honestly like quiet days. Even though I may be doing something, my spirit is able to rest.

Psalm 131 – O Lord, my heart is not conceited. My eyes do not look down on others. I am not involved in things too big or too difficult for me. Instead, I have kept my soul calm and quiet. My soul is content as a weaned child is content in its mother’s arms. Israel, put your hope in the Lord now and forever.

Wean: to accustom ( a young child or animal) to take food otherwise than nursing. To detach from a source of dependence.
Gamal (root word for wean): to deal fully or adequately with, deal out to, wean, ripen.
So amazing that one word can mean so many things.

Keep my soul calm and quiet. I must say that it is easier on quiet days to keep my soul quiet. But the truth is that no matter what is going on around me, my soul must be calm and quiet.
What I think is interesting is, “my soul is content as a weaned child.” And it puzzled me because a child who is not weaned has to get food from its mother, so why like a weaned child and not like an unweaned child?

COMMENTARY: A child not yet weaned embraces his mother with the thought of food and immediate satisfaction. A weaned child embraces its mother out of a desire for love, closeness and companionship.

It’s not because of what I can get from Yahweh why I come close but because of who he is. And the truth is because you are close, he will satisfy and that is an awesome thought.
Today, I will come even closer to Yahweh. I will put my hope in him.
