Today I was in discussion with a young lady and she said that she likes how I show that Yahweh is not doom and gloom, but a joy. I told her that for many years I did not see Yahweh as a happy God. I did not see him as someone who wants what is best for me: that I would be suffering and struggling all my life and the only true joy will come from when we get to heaven. But he decided to step in and truly show me who he is and I am going to be forever thankful for that.
Yahweh, I bring Mia before you. She is your daughter. She is seeking after you and you have revealed yourself to her. I pray that she will always keep her heart open to you. You know her home situation. Yahweh, provide for their needs. I don’t always know what to do, what you do. Show me what I can do and also keep her in your will. To trust you with their whole heart. Thank you for your leading, thank you for your never ending grace that I will not take for granted. You are in control. Thank you for who you are. I love you.
Nehemiah 8:10 – Then he told them, “Go, eat rich foods, drink sweet drinks, and send portions to those who cannot provide for themselves. Today is a holy day for the Lord. Don’t be sad because the joy you have in the Lord is your strength.”
This scripture came to mind. Of course I did not know book and chapter, and only remembered the last words, “The joy of the Lord is your strength” and it is true. He is our joy, he is our strength and we can find joy in his strength.
The KJV had me smiling though. It said, “Eat the fat,” instead of eat rich food. But I am thankful for the promise of a good life here and an even better life in eternity. Thank you for your promises and for loving us without measure. I love you.
