I love the Lord, He heard my cry
And pitied every groan
Long as I live, And troubles rise
I’ll hasten to his throne.

Classic (for me) song. As long as I live, I will hasten to his throne.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills
From whence cometh my help
My help cometh from the Lord
The Lord which made heaven and earth
My help, my help, my help
All of my help cometh from the Lord

One song came to mind and then just led to the next.

SIDEBAR: I remember the days of writing down the lyrics of songs in your song notebook. Of course sometimes the words wrong and there’s always that one part that you listen to a million times to get the right words. Annndddd!! Recording songs from the radio before the internet and YouTube days. I used to get vex when the radio person would start talking in the middle of the song. Why? Sigh.

Why should I worry,
Why should I fret?
Look at all the ways he made
And every promise kept
I look to the hills
From whence cometh my help

Jesus is my help
Jesus is my help
My help, my help

Take it up!! Yes!!

My help comes from who? That’s right!! Yahweh, the Lord, Alpha and Omega. The King of Kings. Jehovah Jireh. He is my help.
Thank you Yahweh for being God above all. You have been my help. You are almighty: all power belongs to you.

SIDEBAR: I love music. Straight up. I don’t (think) I have a preference in style. I just love music once the lyrics and the rhythm hits the spot. It is interesting to see the transition over the years in gospel music. Caveat: for me gospel is any song that spreads the gospel. I don’t class them differently..
You had the power and terms of the LFC choir, then the smaller groups like Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers. Richard Smallwood and vision. Then Take 6, Acapella. Kirk Franklin and the Family (Yes, I like the others especially God’s Property, but the Family was the OG). And while the songs now are just as powerful in the message there’s an undeniable difference.
I must say though, the harmonies of then hit differently. There are a lot more soloing with backup singers now or essentially one lead voice that stands out more than the group or choir. Oooohhhhh and when the choirs would break off into their parts! OMG! Goosebumps! I remember spending hours trying to memorise the harmonies. Wow.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet
Praise him with the psaltery and harp
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!!

“Nobody said more promise, no problems. Nobody told me that manifesting this promise would cause so many problems” SJR. Direct quote

It’s funny. I have seen Yahweh fulfil several promises in my life. But for some reason I forgot that none of them was a cakewalk while manifesting the promise. They (lol) say that a mother forgets the pain of childbirth when the child is actually born. No it may not actually be true, but the joy of the promised child far outweighs the pain. So reminder to self: this is not going to be easy. This is not going to just happen. Yes Yahweh works miracles: but not all miracles come in an instant. Not all miracles require no participation. Problems are part of the promise, but when manifested, the joy will completely overshadow the problems.
