Hebrews 9:16-17 – In order for a will to take effect, it must be shown that the one who made it has died. A will is used only after a person is dead because it goes into effect only when a person dies.

This is why we need to read the Bible for ourselves. (March 16, 2022- Morning Star). It saves us some leg work. Yes, legwork is good, but sometimes it’s good to take it easy. Though maybe in this case, it stood out to me because it was one of the promises he gave to me. Maybe if I had just read it before, it would not have meant that much to me. The day that Yahweh reminded me that he made me an heir.

Hebrews 10:35-36 – So don’t lose your confidence. It will bring you a great reward.  You need endurance so that after you have done what God wants you to do, you can receive what he has promised.

So many times, we can guilt someone with the idea, “You’re only doing this because you want so and so.” as though they are wrong for that. But the truth is, many things that we are called to do, we do for the reward. We go to work to be able to provide. We exercise to remain/get healthy. Most times, it’s for what comes after. Who would choose to endure possible heartache for the fun of it? No one. But they would if they believed that what comes after the blood, sweat and tears is worth it. We endure for the reward.

Hebrews 11:6 -(aka The Faith Chapter) – No one can please God without faith. Whoever goes to God must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

What I just emphasized above. He rewards those who seek him.

Hebrews 11:39 – All these people were known for their faith, but none of them received what God had promised.

Yet. You forgot the word, “yet.” The ultimate promise that required the ultimate sacrifice, is the promise of eternal life with Yahweh. None of us have received that promise – yet. but we will.
