Good Morning Yahweh. Confession: I want to stay wrapped up in bed. Like a cocoon. Just feels like one of those days you know? Thank you for waking me up this morning. This new day. Thank you for saving this world from our sins.
Yahweh thank you for always answering prayers. I’ll confess that I may not always like the answer in the moment, but you answer. I’ve realised though, that we (yes, me too) unless we hear a yes, we put it down as unanswered. But “no” is an answer. “What were you thinking?!!” is an answer. “Don’t do that,” is an answer. Silence is an answer. Though I’ve realised that you are rarely silent – we’re just not listening.
Why do I think that you’re rarely silent? Because when in a relationship, someone is silent, no response, nothing to say for an extended period, the relationship will die. The silent treatment especially over an extended period will kill my relationship and you don’t want our relationship to die.
Which makes me wonder. The 400 years between the Old Testament and the New, were you truly silent? Or were they not listening? Zechariah in some way had a relationship with you, so even though their request for a child wasn’t immediately granted, there was conversation and answers. Yahweh, help us to see you. To see your answers. Your word in our lives at all times. Thank you for always being here. For always guiding. For always listening. For always answering. I love you.
