Ezekiel 38:2 – Son of man, turn to Gog from the land of Magog. He is the chief prince of the nations of Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy against him.
Hmmmm. I always thought that Gog and Magog were two cities (i.e. the words of the song that says, “Gog and Magog to the fray,” but Gog is from the land of Magog. And is the chief prince. Though in Revelation 20:8, they are put together, but no identification as to person or place.
Ezekiel 38:23 – I will show my greatness and my holiness. I will reveal myself to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
Sometimes, Yahweh sends an army to teach us, strengthen us. Other times he allows an army to show his power. I think of a department or an individual who is doing what they are supposed to. The funny thing is because they are operating the way they ought to, they aren’t noticed (it’s sad really). But then one day something goes wrong and they are called to action and folks then see “that way boi, dese folks could real perform!!” It’s kinda like that with Yahweh. Some of us only notice him when things go bad and he makes a “display” of his strength, his glory. But we don’t notice the breath he gave us everyday.
