Daniel 1:17 – God gave these four men knowledge, wisdom, and the ability to understand all kinds of literature. Daniel could also understand all kinds of visions and dreams.

Truthfully, sometimes I wonder if I would have visions. Of these four young men who were all blessed, only one received visions. It doesn’t mean that they weren’t all used by Yahweh, but that they were used differently.

Daniel 1:20 – Whenever the king asked them about things that required wisdom and insight, he found that they knew ten times more than all the magicians and psychics in his whole kingdom.

It’s interesting. They knew ten times as much: they were tested for ten days on pulse. What would have happened if they were tested for fifteen or thirty days?

Daniel 2:13 – So a decree was issued that the wise advisers were to be killed, and some men were sent to find Daniel and his friends and kill them.

I’ve often wondered why Daniel and his friends weren’t called, but they were scheduled to be killed. Turns out they were not yet “advisors” but still in training. They were trained for three years, but this incident occurred the second year Nebuchadnezzar reigned – so it definitely wasn’t after the three years of training, it was during. So truly they weren’t called because they were not yet advisors.

Daniel 4:36 – Just then my mind came back to me. My royal honor and glory were also given back to me. My advisers and nobles wanted to meet with me again. I was given back my kingdom and made extraordinarily great.

He went crazy, but upon his return all that he had was returned to him. How many times do we try to prevent someone from reclaiming something when they return to their right minds or do we hold it against them?
