time with Yahweh during the day

There is a difference between “But God…” and “…But God.” It’s all in the tone. One is whining, “But God…why do I have to do this? Why am I going through this?” and the other is grateful, “I’m going through this right now…but God.” One starts the questions. The other ends the statement. Yahweh, I pray that I go through the process (because there will always be a process) that I will focus on you as the completion of my statement. To express gratitude for what you have brought me through. What you will bring me through and your promises. Help me to always be grateful.

The first “But God.”

Romans 1:21 – They knew God but did not praise and thank him for being God. Instead, their thoughts were pointless, and their misguided minds were plunged into darkness.

The second “But God.”

Psalm 63:4 – So I will thank you as long as I live. I will lift up my hands to pray in your name.

It’s funny though. There are actually two types of “But God” shown in the Bible.

The complaining “But God” gets this response:

Job 24:12 – Those dying in the city groan. Wounded people cry for help, but God pays no attention to their prayers

Luke 12:20 – “But God said to him, ‘You fool! I will demand your life from you tonight! Now who will get what you’ve accumulated?’

Psalm 50:16 – But God says to wicked people, “How dare you quote my decrees and mouth my promises!

But (lol), the second “But God.” The thankful, “But God.”

Nehemiah 6:9 – They were all trying to intimidate us. They thought we would give up and not finish the work. But God made me strong.

1 Corinthians 1:27 – But God chose what the world considers nonsense to put wise people to shame. God chose what the world considers weak to put what is strong to shame.

Genesis 31:7 – Your father has cheated me. He has changed my wages 10 times. But God hasn’t let him harm me

And yes. I’m going to draw, “But God.” How could I not?

No More Pets

I know I said no more pets. I know I said that. But in my defence, it’s a kitten abandoned, on its own and hungry. What was I to do? And he walked right up to me. My hands automatically reached down and picked it up and he didn’t run or anything. When I gave him food, he seemed to be in shock that there was food that he could eat without having to fight others for it. Didn’t give him too much though and then put him in the kitchen. Didn’t want him making too much of a mess. We’ll see how this goes.

I guess it wasn’t meant to be. The cat has an owner. Lol.
