Behold all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). I feel like a whole new person! Thank you for your renewing spirit. Thank you for your words of love. Thank you for your grace and favour, for this new day that you have made. That you have made. It’s kind of funny how this morning happened. I got home so late from church that it threw my sleep schedule off. I listened to a sermon that I clearly needed to hear. Clearly 100% you were reminding me and reinforcing that I can’t quit. I can’t give up on what I believe, on the words that you spoke over this life of yours. Because I fell asleep probably within five minutes of the sermon finishing. And then I turned over this morning, I thought in my half-wake, half-sleep state that chances are that I would be late this morning because I went to sleep so late. Checked the time thinking it was almost four o’clock and saw that it was two on the dot. Our usual time.
Thank you for waking me up. Thank you for your promises. Thank you for your love. Your completely unmerited, absolutely, beautiful love for me. Thank you! I love you!
2 Corinthians 5:18 – Â God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships.
You know, the recognition that no matter the specifics of what we are all called to do, it’s about restoring our relationship with you. Restoring the relationship of others to you. It is not an easy task but one we need to take one day at a time. You are restoring us to you.
Ezekiel 20:40 – ‘The entire nation of Israel, everyone in the land, will worship me on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel, declares the Almighty Lord. There I will accept you. There I will look for your offerings, your best gifts, and all your holy gifts.
You will call us all to worship you. That’s the promise of restoration. You will bring us home to worship you, to honour you, to offer sacrifices. Wait, not sacrifices, offerings. Our best gifts which are ironically our imperfect selves honouring you. Choosing you. Thank you for your restoration. To bless others and to bring others to you. Thank you for loving us beyond what we can imagine.

Psalm 85:1-2 – You favored your land, O Lord. You restored the fortunes of Jacob. You removed your people’s guilt. You pardoned all their sins. Selah
The good news? I have to retire another dress. The bad news? I have to retire another dress. That dress is almost 15 years old and still looks new, but watching the recording from last night it became very obvious that the dress is now way too big and it’s not a dress that can be altered. Hmmmm. Seems most of my dresses and tops are that way. But I am holding out. If I’m down to wearing the one something (whatever that one something is) to church. So be it.
