1 Chronicles 10:2 – The Philistines caught up to Saul and his sons. They killed Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua, Saul’s sons.

Jonathan, faithful to the end. I look forward to meeting him one day. Jonathan: God has Given

1 Chronicles 12:22 – From day to day, men came to help David until he had an army as large as God’s army.

So how big was David’s army? Were there really enough men to rival Yahweh’s army? Because I consider Yahweh’s army to be without number. Annnnddd, that’s probably what they meant: his army was so huge that it couldn’t be numbered.

1 Chronicles 12:38 – All of these soldiers, who were prepared for battle, came with a single purpose to Hebron—to make David king of all Israel. The rest of Israel also had agreed to make David king.

I am so watching you a little side eye right now. I just waxed philosophical about the army being unnumbered…and then you start to count. It’s not funny. Okay, it is slightly, but I am not really smiling. (“All these Soldiers” referred to the number of men that were counted).

1 Chronicles 14:11 – So David and his men attacked and defeated the Philistines at Baal Perazim. David said, “Using my power like an overwhelming flood, God has overwhelmed my enemies.” That is why they call that place Baal Perazim [The Lord Overwhelms].

In reading this I was like huh? This not making sense. Isn’t Baal one of the false gods? Only to realise that Baal literally means Lord, Owner. I’m flabbergasted. Can’t Satan be original in anything at all? Anything?

1 Chronicles 17:2 – Nathan told David, “Do everything you have in mind, because God is with you.”

First thing, Nathan was a tried and true prophet of Yahweh. He spoke what Yahweh said. But after he gave a word, Yahweh came and basically said, “No, you won’t be building my temple.” Hmmmm. Or maybe the frist word wasn’t from Yahweh at all, but from Nathan supposing that since Yahweh is with David, he would be good with this too. Just when you think you know a man (or rather Yahweh).
